Great Cartoon Against Socialism/Communism – Make Mine Freedom 1948
The best line is at 8:28 in — “When anybody preaches disunity, tries to pit one against the other through class warfare, race hatred, or religious intolerance you know that person seeks to rob us of our freedoms and destroy our very lives. And we know what to do about it.”
Designed to promote democracy versus communism, and free enterprise (capitalism) over communism’s totalitarian governments then in vogue in the Eastern Bloc, this film was targeted to young college students who did not have the opportunity to fight for freedom in World War II. “Make Mine Freedom” was produced by John Sutherland and Harding College in 1948
Make Mine Freedom does a good job of demonstrating the ism’s (except capitalism) that claim to offer a utopia but in fact only destroy freedom and prosperity. All of the points made in this timeless video are incredibly applicable now as Americans debate, and in some cases actively work to prevent the political leftist’s stated intent to “remake” America.
